THE SITE
Located on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the land bordering the oldest house in the municipality of Les Cèdres enjoys a climate favorable to the cultivation of vines. The vineyard is located between the river and the Soulanges canal. It is bordered to the west by a tree crop that protects it from the strong west winds. The soil, the south-east orientation, the length of the vegetative season, the 1250 degree days are all factors that make it an exceptional site. HISTORIC
It all started one day in 2011 when the idea of creating a vineyard appeared. Tired of working in a computer, Benoit offers his idea to his spouse, Nancy. Since the land was free of any tenants, it was a good time to start. After expertise, the land was drained, levelled and limed in 2012. In the autumn of the same year, the 35 rows in plot 1 were marked. In spring 2013, plastic mulches were installed and in June the first 3800 vines were planted with the help of a group of courageous friends (in fact several groups!). In 2014, it was the turn of the 25 rows in plot 2 to suffer the same fate with the planting of the three red grape varieties, i.e. 2700 vines. In 2015 and 2016, the construction of the winery was started. In autumn 2016, the first harvest took place and it was the beginning of the first winemaking experiences.
