3rd Chronicle

Montalvin Wine Agency, present at the 12th edition of the Salon des Vins.

This week, I am taking you to the Marches region in Italy. Marche is a region bordered by the Adriatic Sea to the east, Emilia-Romagna to the north, Tuscany and Umbria to the west, and Abruzzo to the south. This region of central Italy with a unique and temperate climate is ideal for the good cultivation of vines. Several delicious wines were born from it. For example, Le Cùmaro, from the Rosso Conero appellation, DOCG, from the Azienda Vinicola Umani Ronchi. The vineyards are located on the slopes of Monte Cornero, near the Adriatic coast, south of the city of Aucône, capital of Les Marches.

This wine, made with 100% Montepulciano grape, has a beautiful deep, ruby-colored color, with rich and complex scents, sometimes fruity, sometimes floral, with a slight animal side (leather, meat). It gives off a woody scent, mixed with balsamic scents, crowned with a small touch of spices at the end. A wine with a beautiful structure, with slightly firm tannins, it can be expected up to 10 years following its vintage. It is a wine to be discovered with meat stew dishes such as Pappardelle to the wild boar, or even a Vincisgrassi (a lasagna)! Lovers of complex wines will find what they are looking for here!

Marche is an unusual and wonderful region of Italy, both in its diversity and in its harmonious and sinuous forms. A region capable of expressing its excellence in all its facets: cliffs and caves on unforgettable beaches, hills rich in history, art and traditions, beautiful mountains to explore nature... In short, a region of Italy to discover for the adventurous and the epicurean!
