Vaudreuil-Soulanges, May 30, 2017 — As part of the 14th edition of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Wine Show, under the honorary presidency of Mr. Marc Besner, a well-known businessman in Soulanges, 1,112 visitors came to meet wines from here and elsewhere to the delight of nearly 30 wine agencies, local vineyards and gastronomic partners.

According to the president of the Fondation du CHVS., Mr. Denis Lapointe, these results demonstrate that the population remains convinced that health in the region is important and essential for the quality of life of Vaudreuil-Soulangeois. At the end of the Show, this 2017 event generated net revenues of $75,500. This is an excellent result in a context where major donors are increasingly asked to donate for various noble causes. It should be remembered that the 2017 Wine Fair was open to the place and for the health of the victims of the floods that affected 9 municipalities in the region. Thus, it was agreed to pay 50% of the net income, i.e. a confirmed sum of $37,750, to the benefit of the victims and their health. In addition, during the event on May 17, people who wanted to make a donation dedicated to the victims could do so. A total of $850 was raised.

Asked to comment on the performance of the 2017 Wine Fair, Mr. Besner praised the feeling of belonging that animates the population in connection with a collective cause: “The population mobilized to unite in the framework of an event that, this year, had two reasons for being: the hospital and the disaster victims. Note the number of signatures written by visitors on the mural entitled “We don't forget you!” ”, it showed how united we are able to make our mark.”

Mr. Lapointe welcomes the return of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Wine Show in 2018: “Over the years, we have found an effective formula that knows how to reconcile the inviting offer with a cause dear to the values of the region. In addition, this charitable event brings together the active forces of the community that I would like to thank very warmly: the major partners, including the SAQ, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion, VIVA Média and Desjardins Vaudreuil-Soulanges; the numerous financial and goods and services sponsors; the donors; the donors; the wine and agri-food exhibitors, as well as the dozens of precious volunteers, not to mention the municipal employees of the arena. from Vaudreuil-Dorion.
